I agree on the Avery, it’s amazing. As for COOP we had a 3 year vertical at the local tap house Wednesday night, 2012 is out! ‘11 is now a funky cherry Jack Daniel goodness.

Wow, I have been taking a lot for granted. Just enjoyed a Pliny today, available most anytime from a local liq store in Livermore, Ca. (Alameda Co.) Lost Abbey is also available around here but have not done one for a while. Was initially taken with BROTHER THELONIUS because of the excellent art work. I rate it a notch or so below Pliny. Recently tried a BLACK FLAG, imperial stout by Beer Valley Brewing Co. Ontario. Oregon. New stuff is popping up ALL the time. As you are aware, the recent BEER gathering in Denver, Co. displayed over 4,400 brews. As an old guy of 71, I have seen an EXPLOSION of quality in both beer and wine over the years and JUST do not have the time. The chemistry involved is so much more refined and advanced. Enjoy your quest.

I completely agree about the ridiculousness of downing shots, as opposed to sipping something decent. But why the fuck are you chugging carbombs? This sounds even worse. I’ll admit I’ve never tried, but you don’t make it sound worthwhile…

The brewer is in fact Belgian(”de proefbrouwerij”), bur the the idea is Danish. I thought it was a great ideaa, but I haven’t drunk any I liked so far. Having said that, I just tried three of them. cheers
